Back in Bangor!

Thespianage Productions are delighted to announce that they will be returning to their alma mater to celebrate 10 years of improvised comedy, fun and friendship at the place where it all began!

Show information

Part of the University of Bangor Students’ Union “De-stresstival” and performing for the first time at Pontio – this is an exciting and once in a lifetime show for the Bangor University alumni – and the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “bizarre and insanely talented” (MCRFringeReview) bunch cannot wait to get started!

Thespianage will be performing at the ‘Studio’ in the Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre. The show will start at 8pm and tickets can be bought here.

For those of you who are new to Thespianage – we perform improvised comedy based on suggestions from the audience. No two shows are ever the same and our “masters of every style” (Edfringereview) are always happy to rise to the challenge of a new suggestion! So, if you want to see recycling bins on a blind date, the world’s worst retelling of Beauty and the Beast or why sex with one of our performers is like Jeremy Corbin – “it’s for the many, not the few!” – then come along and give us your best suggestion!

Thespianage and Bangor: A Brief History

Rory Cooke, one of the founding members of Thespianage, was also one of the founding members of ‘Impsoc’: the Bangor University Improvised Comedy Society. Founded in 2009, the society quickly grew and became ‘Bangor Comedy’ (which still exists today). Many founding members of Bangor Comedy make up the Thespianage team you know and love today!

During their time at University, several Thespianage performers got the chance to perform with TV comedy legend Phill Jupitus (twice!) and Lauren opened for Seann Walsh in a previous Pontio collaboration.

In 2013, the society spawned an Edinburgh Fringe sketch comedy show entitled “Thespianage” based on four wannabe comedians trying to infiltrate the biggest arts festival in the world (Thespian – espionage) and thus “Thespianage Productions” was born!
